CARLSBAD, Calif., (May 6, 2005) - Wrapping up a tough year on the
Supercross tour, Team Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Sean Hamblin has
decided to forego the Vegas round of the 2005 THQ/AMA Supercross Series in
order for his body to heal up for the opener of the AMA Motocross Championship
(May 22) at Hangtown.
"Yeah, I was having problems with my wrist ever since Orlando, so I'd
taken some time off and was excited to come back for Houston, finish out the
Supercross season on a positive note," said Hamblin. "Then I got
landed on in my Saturday qualifier and that pretty much took me out of the
weekend's event. I was bummed, but look forward to putting the Supercross
season behind me and focusing on some solid results at the Nationals."
Hamblin saying "I got landed on" is like Evel saying "I took a
little spill at Caesar's." According to Scott Sepkovic of Crown Athlete
Management Group, Hamlin was forced by another racer to double on a triple,
then had another racer land on his back who tried to triple in the mess.
"Sean injured his other (good) wrist and tore up his back pretty
good," said Sepkovic. "And again, his Shoei helmet saved him from
getting his head smashed in."
Hamblin will return to action the weekend of May 22nd for the Fairfield
Cycle/Suzuki Hangtown Classic in Prairie City, Calif.
In addition to Monster Energy Drinks, Pro Circuit and Kawasaki, Hamblin is
proud to run the following products: Fleetwood, Scion of El Cajon, Lost, DNA,
Alloy, Six Six One, Shoei, Spy, ONE, Tag Metals, Dunlop, Pro X, Works
Connection, UFO, Twin Air, Hinson, Maxima, VP, V-Force, Sunline ARC, Motion
Pro, Braking, Excel and RK.
