SAN BERNARDINO, Ca (May 27, 2008) --TUF
Powersports, Inc.’s Sean Hamblin returned to the United States motocross scene
in dramatic fashion at the opening round of the AMA Toyota Motocross
Championship Presented by FMF at Glen Helen Raceway, posting two solid
eighth-place finishes for seventh overall as well as top privateer.
After taking a year off from American motocross to race in Europe, Hamblin
showed considerable speed on his TUF Powersport’s Yamaha, posting the eighth
fastest lap time in moto one and the sixth fastest lap time in moto two on the
very fast and hilly Glen Helen circuit.
“I felt strong out there, and the bike ran great,” said Hamblin. Hamblin gated
well in the first moto, starting in eighth and holding the position all the way
to the finish. In the second moto, Hamblin round the first lap just inside the
top twenty and methodically began picking off riders, eventually moving into
the top ten with a couple of passes in the last couple of laps. “I didn't get
the start I wanted, but I felt strong and worked my way through the
field. I really wanted to get around Byrne to get sixth overall, but
overall I'm happy with my results,” said Hamblin.
Andy Stacy, owner of Tuf Powersports, was thrilled with Sean's performance at
the opening round. "I couldn't be happier with Sean's results, he
really turned some heads this weekend." Tuf Powersports, Inc., is
located in Dekalb, Illinois and deals in Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki.
